Kaali-Peeli Taxis
Mumbai's famous black-and-yellow metered taxis. Best for South Mumbai where autos can't operate. Always insist on the meter; app-based booking is increasingly available alongside street hailing.
Ferries & Water Taxi
The Gateway-Mandwa RoRo and the Belapur-Gateway water taxi cut across the harbour faster than any road. A scenic, traffic-free option for Alibaug and Navi Mumbai runs.
At peak hours (7-10am, 6-9pm), Mumbai traffic can add 60 to 90 minutes to any road journey. Western Express Highway (Bandra-airport) and Eastern Express Highway (BKC-Thane) are the two most congested corridors. Schedule important meetings outside peak windows, or take the train.
